Combining the themes of madness, conclusion, sight and nature, the play ends with the tragic goal of Lears fairest daughter, Cordelia. Her death is so overwhelming for the king Lears grief changes and develops during the final scene. In the final scenes, Lear goes through unhomogeneous phases of grief for Cordelias death. At first, theres a sense of hope and expectation in the prelude, when he dialogue to her about being in prison, being happy and in conclusion being to get goingher. Then he falls into the certify play of disbelief and shock when Cordelia dies, and later on in the scene, he slips into the third stage in which he is especially hot under the collar(predicate) and slightly mad. His fourth and final stage of grief is his espousal of her death, and then final ly, his death. In the prelude, Lear is speaking of the bread and butter that he and Cordelia go forth have in prison, and how peaceful it will be when he says No, no, no, no! Come, lets onward to prisonWe devil alone will sing uniform birds ith cage. Here, Shakespeare is trying to show the limit between this scene and the opposite in which Cordelia has died. Shakespeare questions Lears state of creative thinker here. Its as if hes in a hurry to drip time with Cordelia. Shakespeare usually uses negative living creature imagery, but this is the virtually pleasant imagery using animals in the entire play, compared to pelican daughters (referring to Goneril and Regan) and Howl, yawl, howl! (Act VI Scene 3, L-256) when Cordelia dies, this is what Lear shouts. This also suggests that Lear wants to be in a cage but happy and singing.
